Spectacular Mountains rise above the surrounding valley. This is what one will read about the Grand Tetons. Fortunately, I had been here before, on a perfect day in 2006 where the mountains stood against a deep blue sky.

There would be no such views this time.

The day dawned grey and overcast and got worse from there. By the time we arrived at Grand Teton National Park, low-hanging clouds obscured the mountains, and visibility was measured in yards.

Nonetheless, nature does not show beauty just on clear and sunny days. The clouds and fog softened the entire landscape and made for a beauty of its own. The near-constant rain did put a bit of a damper on the day, but I still got some photos that will complement the "perfect day" ones I took 16 years ago.
