Buck Island Reef National Monument consists of an uninhabited island just off the northeast coast of St. Croix, along with a vast area of the Caribbean Sea surrounding the island. What's in the water is what gives this park its name. A coral reef surrounds the island and is home to a large variety of sea life.

Access to the park is by boat only. Private boats can moor near a beach on the west side of the island, though most people choose to use one of several concessionaires that offer day trips from Christiansted to Buck Island. These concessionaires provide guided snorkeling tours through the underwater trail on the southeast corner of the island.

The island itself offers a beach, picnic facilities, and a few hiking trails into the central hills of the island. Unfortunately, the only way to access these is by private boat as all concessionaires visit the coral reefs and spend very little time on the island.

Park information, Passport stamps, and brochures are available at the Park Administration office in Christiansted near Fort Christiansvaern.
