I stopped here as the visitor center doubles for Tule Springs Fossil Beds NM. However, the Wildlife Refuge covers much more land than the National Monument and was is some ways, more interesting.

The visitor center had informaton and exhibits on the desert's flora and fauna. Not only have animals adapted to the environment, people settled in the area and made a life farming.

The landscape was scenic in its own way, with a spring bubbling along the trail I took and mountains in the distance.
