This small but very scenic area sits a few miles west of Las Vegas. It was highly recommended by hotel staff, claiming it rivaled the Grand Canyon. Spoiler: It doesn't.

However, it is a very scenic 13-mile loop past differing geology, with lots of information about the formation of the canyon areas. The red rocks were the result of ancient volcanic activity.
