Following an overnight trip on Amtrak's AutoTrain, I'll make a large clockwise loop through Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Deleware and back into Maryland. I'm looking forward to seeing Gettysburg National Military Park, as it has been about 55 years since I was last there. Monocacy is a Civil War battlefield I had not known prior to planning this trip. I'll visit some sites featuring the battle for independence in Valley Forge and Independence Hall. A War of 1812 site - Fort McHenry - finishes the trip.
