(Around Lakes Michigan & Superior, northern Minnesota)

There's a lot of to see in this group's sites as I make a big loop around Lake Michigan. There is a little history, too.

Included in this group are four sites that have been added to the "official" roster since I first planned my trips in 2021: New Philadelphia NHS, Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley NM, Ice Age NST and North Country NST.

We will enjoy climbing sand dunes at Indiana Dunes National Park and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Pictured Rocks and Apostle Islands National Lakeshores offer great views of Lake Superior.

For that pure outdoor experience, Isle Royale and Voyageurs National Parks offer less-crowded sites. Heading down the western side of the loop, we will visit two river-based sites: St. Croix NSR and Mississippi NR&RA.

A visit to Iowa include the Effigy Mounds NM before reaching Chicago and the Pullman NHS, honoring the famous railroad car of the past.
