(Southern Texas, southern New Mexico, southeastern Arizona)

This group feels like it is taking a tour of the old southwest! Sites across southern Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona highlight the trip.

First is a stop in New Orleans to revisit the sites in that city that I missed in my first visit. Then we head to Texas.

Following the Gulf coast, we visit Padre Island National Seashore and the Palo Alto Battlefield - a rare battlefield from the Mexican War of the 1840s.

Turning inland a bit, we remember the Alamo and President Lyndon Johnson before heading for the border. Big Bend National Park highlights four different sites along or near the river.

Turning inland again, we visit three National Parks in a row: Guadeloupe, Carlsbad Caverns, and White Sands. We finish the trip in southern Arizona at a series of historical sites before making the long trip back home.
