(Special First Group from Iowa to South Carolina)

This unusual grouping of six disparate sites was created to give me my first taste of the journeys to come. The sites were simply chosen as being on the route I drove home from a visit to Iowa. It did include one full National Park that I did not even know existed only months earlier (Congaree). This trip also provided a "shakedown" test, seeing if my packing and traveling plans were reasonable.
